The challenge

Background

At the beginning of this century, Cyprus’ tourism demand stagnated at 2.6 million international tourists. According to World Bank statistics, Cyprus was the lowest performing destination among its EU competitors at the time. However, a promising increase in demand has been observed in recent years, opening up new opportunities. To take advantage of this opportunity, the Government of Cyprus decided to define a new National Tourism Strategy.

Strategic Marketing Plan for Croatia

Ubicación: Chipre

The Challenge

Background

In 2002, Croatia presented considerable tourist attractions, but was unable to realize its full potential due to conflicts in the region. The country had a low awareness in Europe and lacked the positioning of other established Mediterranean destinations, which benefited from positive perceptions and strong brand associations. Recognizing its significant but underexploited tourism attractions, the Croatia National Tourism Board (CNTB) saw an opportunity to develop a strategic and operational marketing plan to consolidate and promote its tourism industry.

THR has repeatedly led the Croatian government's tourism marketing strategy, providing support to the CNTB on multiple occasions: 2002, 2008, 2014 and 2022.
Key objectives

Position Croatia as a leading destination in the European market to successfully compete at a commercial level.

  • Leverage Croatia’s tourism potential
  • Stimulate increased visits to the country
  • Develop and implement innovative marketing tools
  • Identify the main opportunities and threats for future tourism development
